Our Boy Forever

Our boy Simon has been the love of our life and will continue to be so. The bond that we had with Simon is something that will stay forever. His passing leaves an empty place in our heart that only the wonderful memoires of our years together can fill. He gave so much love to us and our whole family. He was always finely tuned to our feelings and was the first to offer his Boxer Hugs if he senses that something was a miss with one of us. He was completely devoted to us. We were Simon’s agenda…He had no other. Whatever we were doing he was happy as long as he could be with us. There could not be a better family dog than our boy. He brought joy to hearts of all of us. He was wonderful with our grandchildren and always looked forward to their visit. Simon and our oldest granddaughter, Kate were best buddies from the time she was a baby and he was a puppy. The memories of the precious years Kate and Simon had together will stay in her heart and ours forever. We will particularly always remember Kate calling Simon her Beast when she was seven years old and then informing us that if he turns into a Prince one day she will marry him! That was fine by Simon…Anything that Kate wanted him to do he would. We have no doubt that if Simon could have turned into a human Prince for Kate he would have. As for Dennis and I…Simon was our Prince from the moment he captured our hearts as a puppy.

Simon was a joy to train and show in Obedience Trials. Both Dennis and I enjoyed working with our boy. Through out his years of competing Simon showed a wonderful work ethic. His performance was consistent. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. I took Simon through each level of Rally Obedience and am proud to say that Simon qualified with high scores in every Rally Trail he was entered earning his RAE Title. Dennis and Simon had a wonderful journey in training and trialing in Obedience. Together they worked through Novice and Open Obedience. Simon earned his CD Title with Dennis taking 1^st place and receiving the awards for Highest Scoring Boxer and Highest Scoring Working Dog. He repeated this performance in the Open Obedience Trails earning his CDX Title with awards. Dennis and Simon were training and showing in Utility Obedience until we retired Simon because of the onset of arthritis in his elbows at age 8. The repeated jumping that is required in Utility was to damaging to his joints. Even though Simon did not compete anymore he continued working with Dennis just for fun…Everything but the jumping. Simon and Dennis always enjoyed this special time together.

Dennis and I are so grateful for the years we had with Simon. We have truly been blessed by having Simon in our lives.

Simon earned his CD Title Judge Mrs. Dorothy McCauley at the Southwest Obedience Dog Show. Simon was awarded the First Place Trophy for his class.	Simon was awarded a Trophy by the Southwest Obedience Dog Club for Highest Scoring Boxer in all classes.
